Tears in Rain
Tears in Rain explores the different experiences of memories and nostalgia. These artworks foster a dialogue between cinema and the subconscious. They draw influence from contemporary art sculptures and are built from abstract and identifiable objects from cinema history. The artworks are inspired by the idea that cinema is a visual and emotional medium that can evoke memories and nostalgia.
The series questions the relationship between the viewer and their perceived understanding of memories and the subconscious. By using familiar objects from cinema, the artist aims to create a sense of nostalgia in the viewer, and to evoke memories that might be forgotten or repressed. The sculptures are abstract and identifiable, which allows the viewer to connect their own memories to the artwork. This connection encourages the viewer to explore their own memories and the subconscious.
In his view, what makes an "artwork" is the artistic experimentation that now brings together the artist, the viewer and the work.
Aymeric invites the audience on a journey of nostalgia, diving deep into our subconscious, reawakening lost memories and reliving moments from film.
